As part of the Dubai Summer Surprises, a weeklong of Sheila and Abaya Fashion Show was held at the at The Fashion Avenue of TDM. The abaya or cloak is a long overgarment, essentially a robe-like dress worn by women in some parts of the Islamic world. It is considered a national dress here in United Arab Emirates.
I asked Hubby if I can buy one. I qualify since I am half-Muslim and he said, "You want to wear one? Landi!" ((^_^))

Do they ever make abayas other than black? I saw a documentary about a girl from Saudi who's trying to make changes and began making and wearing non-black abayas.
Beautiful outfits. But I don't think they will be suitable with the humidity and rainy climate here in Indonesia :)

Rather dark for me - did they do any other colours? I am told blue is my colour! lol!

They do look lovely, especially that last one. Very pretty!
I saw one yesterday that had some decoration on it. That's the first time I have seen one like that.
I never knew they could have decorations on them.
I think the picture of the line of models is fascinating.
The models don't look as bored as most seem to be. That's a GOOD thing.

Amazing, Absolutely Astounding! I know nothing about fashion, yet I recognize artistic worknanship when I see it.
Imagine the time that would go into making one of those.
What a unique take on the letter A, and a great way to start off round seven.
