Hummer H3

Posted by Kero at Sunday, June 26, 2011 6 sweets for Kero
An old photo I took from my phone. This yellow Hummer is a regular visitor to the neighborhood in Karama.

Smallest and leanest Hummer and the first to be built by GM. It is available either as a traditional midsize SUV or as a midsize pickup known as the H3T

The Hummer H3 is a crossover SUV/Sport Utility Truck from General Motors' Hummer division introduced in 2005 based on the GMT355 underpinning, the Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon compact pickup trucks.

Father's Day Gift Ideas: Motorcycle Apparel

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, June 15, 2011 1 sweets for Kero
Are your gifts and surprises ready? That special man deserves to be pampered over the weekend =)

I accompanied my friend Molly to the Emirates Post Office this morning to pick up a shipment. It's a motorcycle apparel for her husband who is fast becoming an avid fan of motocross sports. It all started when we went for a day trip to Jebel Ali Golf Resort last year. Just before entering the hotel grounds, we saw a group of people cheering as they watch motorcycle stunts. I have seen stunts even more daring at Gulf Bike Expo events but still, it left me very thrilled. Molly's husband decided to stay with the crowd and watch. Before the day ended, he joined us again and broke the news that he signed up to be a new member.

Accordingly, Molly's husband had always been crazy about sports  motorbikes. But never really got the chance to explore his daredevil interest because his work as engineering consultant always kept him on travel. But now that they are in contarct to stay in Dubai for two years, he is grabbing the chance to learn more about the sports.

Molly has always been very supportive, buying him all sorts of motorcyle accessories -  jackets, helmets, pants. Until she got bored because there is only one store we know in Dubai that sells such specialized products. I helped her check online and we came to know about Cycle-Parts.com. It is an exciting online shop that sells vast motorcyle parts, apparel, and accessories. I was especially smitten with the classic biker jackets and came this close to clicking purchase for Hubby. I tried hard to remind myself that what he urgently needs now are day blazers =)

Anyway, if your Husband or Dad is the sports type, or if you are simply looking for unique Father's Day gift ideas, then I strongly suggest you visit Cycle-Parts.com

Floris Toiletries

Al Pacino‘s character in Scent of a Woman famously declared he knew the woman in his ‘sights’ was wearing Floris fragrance. Ian Fleming's James Bond always wear Floris No. 89.

These are the complimentary toiletries in our room in Atlantis The Palm. Floris is an English retailer of luxury toiletries and accessories.

Vanity kits, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and bath gel.

Need Money For Your Summer Holiday?

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, June 15, 2011 2 sweets for Kero
Beach, city, or ski? Which is your pick for summer vacation? Our neighbors are going to the great city of London next week for their annual family holiday. They came knocking last night if we could lend them some money because the husband's salary is delayed for two weeks. Like us, they don't have credit card either as fall back.

Since we have no imminent travel plans, it is okay for us to lend them money but the thing is, my son will be attending summer classes. We have to pay for his slot by next week. Fortunately, I have a friend who was previously in the same situation. A scheduled holiday but delayed salary. It's becoming a regular occurrence here in the city, with some unresolved bank issues. She applied for payday loan and was thrilled to get a positive response. She went on with her 15-day Coach Tour European Holiday and from then on, she's been recommending the site whenever her other friends need bad credit payday advance.

So I did the same and told them about MyPayDayLoan.com. For as long as you have three-month old checking account, currently employed, and has e-mail and internet access, you are qualified to be granted a loan. generally, you have to pay it the next payday but this site is flexible because you can extend the loan by making minimum payment on your cash adnvance. When you have paid it all, you can apply again for renewal. Yes, its saves you like that, quick and easy.

Our neighbors left happy and hopeful because they have been dreaming to set foot in United Kingdom. I know their loan application will be approved because except for the car loan, they pretty much have a clean credit history.

How To Take Care Of Your Valuable Art Collection

Posted by Kero at Thursday, June 09, 2011 0 sweets for Kero
We've always been collecting wall arts. We bought our first artwork by Modigliani in 2006, the same year that we married. Coupled with my husband's sketches, local artists' work, and artworks we bought in Italy, our collection has reached a sizeable amount. A lot of people may not understood but we take pride in them. I'm not even sure if you can call it as an investment but we feel a sense of satisfaction every time we add another painting to our collection.

Our neighbors had asked frequently how we take care of them. Apparently, whenever they move to a new apartment, all the art works they bought are also left behind since they no longer appear pleasing - the painting faded, frames get dusty and mouldy or at times, insects had crawled under the glass.I share with you then some tips that helped us maintain our art collection.

The art shop in Venice where we bought an acrylic a painting of gondola and the Venice Grand Canal.

1. Frame them. A work on paper should be framed under a glass. Canvas art should be framed without glass but must be stretched properly.

2. Inspect your collection regularly. Check for first signs of deterioration. Frames should be looked regularly for wood-worms.Painting on a canvas can be brushed lightly with a feather duster.

3.Hang your wall arts but avoid walls that catches direct sunlight and humidity. Refrain placing them in rooms with halogen or fluorescent bulbs as the ultraviolet rays can fade the painting.

4. Avoid touching artworks because the moisture and oil in your fingers can ruin the painting.

5.If your paintings cannot be hanged temporarily or for a longer period of time, avoid storing them in the basement or attic. Your best option is to avail one of those professional art storage companies. You can be assured that your valuable art collections will be kept in mesum-quality art storage capability: where climate and light is controlled, temperature and humidity regulated.

Coffee Break

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, June 08, 2011 2 sweets for Kero
So I am maintaining three blogs. One of them is free and the source of a regular task. I am so thankful that I found a lovely template (free of course) because the blog deserves a make-over. I have contemplated on giving it up. Sometimes, I can't even update it for three days which is a blogging mortal sin. But then, i'll receive a task and i'll go publish a new post again.
The other one is not free but earning in GBP, thank you so much to Philippa. I shared her with my fellow bloggers and I'm glad Philippa is giving them tasks as well.

Then I launched a fashion blog. I actually  steered clear from the niche.  But I found that most of the tasks offered are related to fashion and travel. Boy, there are people who take it seriously!

There are a few followers but I haven't formally launched it. I'm still conceptualizing weekly feature posts and I really, really need a personalized template. Hopefully, I can launch it come July.

Oh, I was feeling sickie over the weekend so I didn't get any new photos. Thankfully, my hard drives still has a lot to offer lol!

Dubai International Motorshow will be back come November and I am soo excited! It only comes every after two years making all petrol heads giddy in waiting. There are news reports that a diamond-encrusted Maybach will be unveiled. Boy, i can't wait to see that.

Anyway, I wonder how many concept cars will be unveiled. Here's one concept car  from 2009's breathtaking show.

Secure Parcel Delivery Boxes

Posted by Kero at Monday, June 06, 2011 0 sweets for Kero
A week ago, I missed a delivery from FedEx because I was at Geant Hypermarket doing weekly grocery. I felt terribly disappointed because the shipment from Kirkman Laboratories was already a week delayed due to inconsistent airway bill. Dubai Customs would not release it because there was  a huge discrepancy on the total amount appearing on the commercial invoice. After days of sending e-mails and begging Kirkman, their international representative was able to fix it and the shipment was released. Only that I missed the delivery.

So here I am again waiting. That is one minute disadvantage of online shopping. You have to be there when the delivery occurs. Maybe I will ask Hubby if we can install one of those Asgard secure parcel delivery boxes I see on shopping network. It is made of high quality, rust-free, and weather-proof metal with secure locks. Some boxes are even equipped with special key-locks that are password-enabled.

I think it is worth buying a parcel delivery box large enough to accommodate books, CDs, and gift items because when the holiday comes, I will be ordering most of our family Christmas gifts online. Also I want to start early for holiday shopping and take advantage of discount offers.
