This is the arrival area or The Royal Towers Grand Lobby of Atlantis The Palm. The magnificent glass sculpture inside the dome is made by Dale Chihuly, a renowned American glass sculptor.
It is estimated to have cost US$12 million and Mr. Chihuly himself was in Dubai to install the sculpture for two weeks. This is his first installation in the Middle East. The sculpture was sent from States in individual pieces and put together on site.
A glass sculpture that brings the essence of the sea and its inhabitants to life. It is 10-metre high with over 3,000 pieces of intensely-coloured blown glass ranging from fiery oranges and reds to tranquil blues and greens and is surrounded by a reflection pool.
With my toddler who is always enthralled by water feature. Oh I can't wait to see the lobby in all its glory at night time. We are staying here for a short summer break.....and this is like my dream hotel ever!
Atlantis The Palm is a 5-star resort on the tip of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. It is the sister of The Atlantis Bahamas. A joint venture by Kerzner International Limited and Istithmar PSJC , the stunning hotel was completed in September 2008.
