weekend snapshot #7

Posted by Kero at Sunday, November 11, 2007

Weekends are sometimes spent on volunteer programs. Last Friday, my husband and I joined the annual Clean Up Arabia. Thousands joined and scattered all over the emirates shoreline to collect waste and debris from the beach and the sea.

I am 34 weeks pregnant but insisted on doing the clean up so I have to stay on the
beach with fellow non-divers. In my sack were beverage bottles (plastic, glass, cans),
stirrers, plastic cups, forks, spoons, plates, batteries, diaper, and cigarette butts.

The divers leaving the shore. Among they collected are fish traps,
beverage bottles,
buoys, light bulbs, bait, and fishing nets.

That is hubby after their dive with a green sack of his collected debris.

A group picture with fellow Filipinos who volunteered for the clean up.

Our certificates. This is our second year to join the Clean Up Arabia and
we plan to do so for many more years.

Happy Sunday everyone! Thank you for the visit and till next entry!

Good for you! It is great that you contributed even though you are pretty far along in your pregnancy. It sounds like you are having a great pregnancy...congratulations on the impending birth!

34 weeks. Wow, malapit na. What a way to spend your ninth month as a preggy woman. Very active! And that's good. Easier to give birth. ;)

Those are great shots of a wonderful way to spend the weekend. Looks like an idyllic place. That is a shame about the litter and great of you and your group to clean it up.

I see that you are reading 11 minutes by P Cohelo. I love his books. 11 Minutes was my 2nd favorite of his books after THE ALCHEMIST!
Are you enjoying it?
