cleaning time made easy

Posted by Kero at Friday, November 30, 2007 1 sweets for Kero
I have barely a month to go before I give birth to our first born and like any expectant parents, hubby and I are now busy preparing the house for our prince. We both want a healthy environment for the baby, so we are making sure every corner of the house and the car is spick and span.

The carpets arrived this morning from the rug cleaners and hubby says, starting today we will have to get used to vacuuming around the house everyday. Living in Dubai with all the desert, sand, and dust are already a major health threat. We do not want the baby to risk having allergies, asthma, or any serious illness that can be triggered by trapped particles on the carpet. But I am afraid our old vacuum is no longer up to the job.

Strenuous shopping these days is crossed among my allowed activities so I turned to a favorite chore, the online shopping, this time at Dyson site. The website specializes on reliable vacuum cleaners ranging from the upright to cylinder and the hand held. I am really glad that I discovered this website because I was able to avail of their special offer. We decided on a cylinder upright and we were also given a car cleaning kit. Just exactly what hubby needs to keep the car clean and healthy too for the baby. Dyson site also offers parts and accessories to help you ease your cleaning thus making this house chore simply enjoyable, you would not mind cleaning everyday. So if you are looking for a reliable vacuum cleaners, be assured with the Dyson technology.

Vitamins to the Rescue

Posted by Kero at Thursday, November 29, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
Good evening everyone. I am working on a new blog and I am really excited about it. It is actually a continuation of my very first personal journal. But since I have an increasing difficulty to access it, (and before the Dubai government completely blocks the website) I thought of making a new blog to transfer links of my Bravenet friends and my posts. When you have time, do visit Outside Our Not So Big House and let me know if you want to be added as well.

For now, I shall continue with my health clippings on vitamins.

2. Stress and Fatigue

The Condition
A lot has been said about stress, but the most ironic part about it is that although a little stress in your life does motivate you to keep moving and be productive, too much of it can get the better of your body.

Some physical symptoms of stress include headache, fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite or overeating, increased smoking or drinking, muscle spasms and lowered libido.

Psychological symptoms may include tension or anxiety, anger, withdrawal, pessimism, lack of concentration, resentment and increased irritability. Over a long period of time, stress can cause more serious conditions such as ulcers and skin diseases. {ep[le have different tolerance level of stress, and the effect it has on your body depends on many things like genes, diet and exercise.

The Solution
B group vitamins have been noted to help deal with stress. For best results, choose one with added magnesium which assist in muscle relaxation. Herbs with sedative effects such as Valerian, Passion Flower and Hops may also relieve jittery nerves. And if you are feeling anxious, try Hypericum, which has been proven to help with anxiety symptoms.

black and blue diamonds

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, November 28, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I removed my wedding ring last week because my fingers are really swollen now. As I was cleaning it this morning to stash it properly on my jewel box, I smiled, admiring hubby's choice of our wedding band. It is made of smooth 23k devoid of any design except for a one small diamond embedded on the ring to know which part should go on front. This aroused my curiosity on the gemstone so I researched to learn more about it.

Diamond is the hardest known natural material. Its hardness and high dispersion of light make it useful for industrial applications and jewelry. Consequently, it is among if not the most popular material for engagement and weddings rings giving rise to diamond empires around the world.

But did you know that the glittering, shiny, colorless diamonds can come in any color? I personally think that the colored ones are even more beautiful and glamorous. I checked on MySolitaire.com and I was amazed with the range of black diamonds they offer. The website is an online jewelry store that specializes on jewelries and diamond engagement rings. I searched further to see if they have a collection of black diamond rings and what a marvelous sight! They come in all sizes and shapes and sizes and the styles are so dramatic! Black diamonds, I learned are from outer space. So if you are looking for an out of this world love band, this gemstone is perfect for you and your partner in life.

MySolitaire.com also offers exquisite blue diamonds. Yes, this is the same gemstone they used for the necklace in the movie Titanic. Remember the Heart of the Ocean? Well, maybe you will not get the same cut here but you can design your own jewelry inspired by this, because MySolitaire.com is also among the few jewel stores that allows you to create your own designs.

Vitamins to the Rescue

Posted by Kero at Tuesday, November 27, 2007 1 sweets for Kero
Sometimes a good dose of vitamins is all our body needs to set it back on the path to good health. Starting today, I will share you my clippings on how to alleviate the ten most common ailments with the help of off-the-shelf vitamins.

1. Anaemia

The Condition
Hemoglobins in your blood are required to carry oxygen throughout your body. Not having enough of them produces symptoms like weakness, general tiredness and fatigue. In really bad cases, you may also experience bluish lips, pasty skin, pale gums, nail beds and eye-lid linings. Symptoms like breathlessness, light headedness or dizziness are quite sever and probably require medical attention. The most common reason for this condition is iron deficiency, which is usually related to diet, although other factors may also be involved. For example, women with heavy periods lose a lot of blood and therefore, a lot of iron. Pregnant mothers may experience anemia, and blood loss from accidents or surgery may also cause this condition.

The Solution
Taking an iron supplement for several days each month leading up to and during your period does help prevent anaemia. And if you take Vitamin C at the same time, your body is able to absorb much more iron. Vitamin B12 and folic acid are also involved in the development of red blood cells.

ensure YES on your engagement

Posted by Kero at Tuesday, November 27, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
Does your beloved one deserve something very special and unique? I watched Sleepless in Seattle for the nth time last night and as always, the part when Meg Ryan announces her engagement on Christmas eve warms my heart. Even though she eventually chose Tom Hanks, i still loved that part. I guess any lady enjoys watching engagement proposals and announcements. It just gives me goose bumps hihi.

I thought about this because some of you might be thinking of proposing this Christmas or the coming New Year to that love of your life. Though romantic to think about it, engagement can be very stressful on the part of the guy. Engagement almost always calls for a ring. Bear in mind that this ring will be scrutinized by every relative, friend, and colleague your lady has. So it all points down to your taste, style, and of course, money.

But do not worry because I found a perfect website to help you in your engagement dilemma. MySolitaire.com is a trusted source for engagement rings. Visit their website and you will be greeted with the most exquisite cuts and designs of diamond rings to accent your life's milestone memories. This is not surprising because MySolitaire.com has over 35 years of experience in the diamond, gemstone, and jewelry industry. And if you are hard up to decide which should fit beautifully in your lady's left finger, you can speak to their experienced jewelry consultants and they will answer any questions you have. If you still are not satisfied, this jewelry store offers you to design your own engagement rings. How wonderful! Just like what Brad did when he married Aniston.

But what if a man cannot afford a diamond ring? MySolitaire.com still has a way to help you with their charming sapphire rings. This maybe cheaper but it is the care and the thought that counts in an engagement. And just to prove this, I remember reading that Princess Diana herself received a sapphire engagement ring. See, even the royalty don't care all that glitters. It is what the heart says that counts.

So propose in the most unique manner. You may be the most wonderful lover but armed with the perfect ring, you become irresistible!

save money with Save Buckets

Posted by Kero at Tuesday, November 27, 2007 1 sweets for Kero
I checked on my Christmas gift list last night and I am halfway around it. The problem is my budget is running short. More worst is that I left out the major and more expensive items hoping a miracle sale will fall anytime soon hihi. But with barely a month before Christmas, I do not have much time to wait much less go for a shopping spree to seek out bargain with my bulging 35-week tummy.

That is why I am so much relieved to learn about a website called Save Buckets. No, this is not an online shopping store but a marvelous price comparison site. There is a massive selection of products that you can compare prices of from different specialty and online shops. The items you can compare prices range from clothing and baby products to electronics to sports to just about anything you might need. But what I like best about it is that when your budget falls short on the given price, you can e-mail the website to tell them how much you are willing to pay for a certain product. Save Buckets then searches through all the shops and e-mails you back if the product is now available at your price. Isn't that cool? It saves you a lot of time and effort.

Perhaps the major item I still have to buy is a laptop for my sister. She is in her second year of accountancy and I know how much she needs her own notebook to learn all those accounting software. I found a perfect one from Acer and with the help of Save Buckets, I got the best deal ever!

Now I my shopping list is shorter with just a stroke on the keyboard. Maybe next time you go online shopping, check out prices first with Save Buckets.

Mistletoe
by Walter de la Mare

Sitting under the mistletoe

(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
One last candle burning low,
All the sleepy dancers gone,
Just one candle burning on,
Shadows lurking everywhere:
Some one came, and kissed me there.

Tired I was; my head would go
Nodding under the mistletoe
(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
No footsteps came, no voice, but only,
Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely,
Stooped in the still and shadowy air
Lips unseen - and kissed me there.

photos in digital frame

Posted by Kero at Monday, November 26, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
Both hubby and I love to take pictures of our travels. And as my pregnancy progressed, we tried to take portraits of my growing tummy every month. It is just us here in Dubai so none of his family or my family saw how i look on the duration of my pregnancy.

Now that we are planning our vacation to the Philippines early next year, I started to compile our photos to show our relatives and oh we got so many! There are pictures of our travels and dives to other countries, some snapshots when we attended the prestigious Middle East International Motorshow, a couple of photos from the exciting Red Bull Flugtag, our shopping trips for the baby, our anniversaries and many other events that we would like to specially share with our relatives.

I thought of a good way to bring home all these pictures by keeping a file on hubby's notebook but since we will be checking our mails from time to time (and hopefully continue to work on Smorty even vacationing), and hubby will need the laptop to communicate with his colleagues, I searched about digital photo frames. I first saw this gadget when we visited a technology expo about two months ago. I thought it was very handy, practical, and stylish.

I talked about it with hubby and he says we can buy two digital picture frames: one we will leave to the Philippines and one we can leave here in the house which will ultimately serve to display slide shows of our photos. Oh I was so excited so I searched online on how to get one. Then I came across an online electronic store specializing on lcd digital frames. The frames ranged from 7 inches to 15 inches with different colors to choose from. How lovely! They also have a promo right now, you get a free 256 MB memory when you buy the 10-inch digital picture frame.

Well, I already placed my orders and now I sit back and wait for the shipment which I was assured it will be done tomorrow. I can hardly wait!

taggie from Mommy Gen

Posted by Kero at Sunday, November 25, 2007 1 sweets for Kero
I received this wonderful taggie from Miss Gen. Thank you po, namiss ko kayo...

Here are the rules:

~Start copy paste~

Instructions:

To play this game, all you must do is explain what your most common writing mistake is. Then, simply tag 5 people for the meme. Those 5 will, in return, tag 5 more people. Ultimately, readers should see a tapestry of common grammar and spelling mistakes. Therefore, anyone who feels ashamed of their errors will feel a bit more confident and secure.

Copy the person and persons' names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps build community.

The answers:-

Shine with Grace : Mixing the word 'from' with 'form' all the time.
Trinity : I sometimes feel confused to use past tense or present tense when I share my stories.
LadyJava : Typing too fast that sometimes I miss words in between.
Genie King : I type too fast too... always end up with 'tot he'... when it should be 'to the'.
Spiff : I type too fast that I end up with sentences that have no space in between... LOL!
Nessa : Mostly grammatical mistakes... but it doesn't really bother me as long as my readers understand :)
Choc Mint Girl: Obviously grammatical error due to lack of vocabulary…but getting better and better and better…he he he…
Mommygen: My grammar sometimes are not correct and there are interchanging of past and present tense maybe sometimes too.
Kero's Celebration: I type too fast and I do proof read most of the time but somehow, one letter or word almost always manages to escape my sight hihi. And yes, my grammar is far from perfect so I am always thankful to all my readers for bearing with me.

Add your link and answer here

~End copy paste~

Now I am tagging the following blogger friends,

Juliana of Pinay WAHM

I was out today malling with one of my best girlfriends when we spotted a 3-day sale on Debenhams. Fashionista of all ages I know go crazy on this high street UK department store. It was no surprise at all to see people quickly lining up with their purchases. My friend, Ninfa sighed of frustration because her pay check is still two weeks away. It could have been a perfect time for her to complete her Christmas shopping gifts for her family, friends, and officemates.

I am glad I was able to brighten up my friend's shopping day because I learned about a website called CashAdvance1500.com. This helpful website provide cash advance and payday loans bridging the gap or the times until you receive your salary. To avail the payday loan is easy and they do not require any credit check. As long as you are employed, with an active bank account, and a minimum salary of $1,000 a month, you can apply. Once approved, your loan amounting from $100 to$1,500 will be deposited to your bank account within 24 hours. Isn't that great?

So if you need a quick cash for shopping, emergency bills, or any unforseen costs (like the Debenhams' sale), let CashAdvance1500.com help you.

a Christmas poem

Posted by Kero at Thursday, November 22, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I just finished bloghopping and i see that almost everyone has a Christmas touch on their lay out or sidebar! Maybe I will add some tweaks next week since we have a busy weekend. For the mean time, I want to share with you this simple Christmas poem.
Real Meaning of Christmas
by Brian K. Walters

In todays day and time,
it's easy to lose sight,
of the true meaning of Christmas
and one special night.

When we go shopping,
We say "How much will it cost?"
Then the true meaning of Christmas,
Somehow becomes lost.

Amidst the tinsel, glitter
And ribbons of gold,
We forget about the child,
born on a night so cold.

The children look for Santa
In his big, red sleigh
Never thinking of the baby
Whose bed was made of hay.

In reality when we look into the night sky,
We don't see a sleigh
But a star, burning bright and high.

A faithful reminder,
Of that night so long ago,
And of the child we call Jesus,
Whose love, the world would know.

whiz kids!

One of the most sought after advise when you are pregnant is how to bear an intelligent child. I received this e-mail from hubby and I would like to share it with you all. May all our children be as witty as these Grade One pupils. Have a good laugh, especially you, soon-to-be-Mom!

A grade one teacher collected well known proverbs. She gave each child
in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with
the remainder of the proverb.

It's hard to believe these were actually done by grade one kids
(6
year-olds), because the last one is a classic!

Strike While the? ...............insect is close.

Never underestimate the power of? ...............ants.

Don't bite the hand that? ........................looks dirty.

Better to be safe than? .......................punch a grade 7 boy.

If you lie down with dogs, you'll? .................stink in the

A penny saved is? ....................not much.

Two's company, three's? .................the Musketeers.

Don't put off till tomorrow what? .............you put on to go to bed.

Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and? ...you have to blow
your nose.

There are none so blind as? ...................Stevie Wonder.

Children should be seen and not? ...............smacked or grounded.

If at first you don't succeed? ...............get new batteries.

You get out of something only what you? .........see in the picture on the box.

Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful Wednesday here because my blog has been accepted by Smorty. Now all the efforts I put on my blog day and night is finally paying off hihi. Moreover, hubby and I need this extra income for our winter blessing -- a baby boy. I hear all the time how expensive it is to rear a child so we are bracing ourselves for it, trying to save as much as we can for the baby.

So let me tell you how Smorty works. If you are interested in blog advertising and your blog baby is 60 days old, you can visit their website through a link on this post. You will be asked to submit details about your blog. Then you wait for about two days and receive notification if your blog has been accepted or rejected. When accepted, you can start accepting opportunities, write your opinion about products and services related to your blog. The pay outs range from $6 - $20. Isn't that great? All you have to do for now is make sure your blog is page ranked by Google, Alexa, and Technorati. Of course, the higher the quality of your content, the more traffic you get, the higher the opportunity pay outs you will receive. If you encounter any problem with your blog submission, drop me a line and I will be very glad to help. This is in return for the people who helped me start on paid blogging. We all can help each other in the blogosphere.

Work then on your blogs, pumped it up, define what is it all about and be ready to get paid for doing what you love most. Blog for money with Smorty!

Let's Play Online!

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, November 21, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
After a long day of blogging, I usually reward myself playing online. I enjoyed it very much, taking advantage of any bonus and number of available games so I hop from one gaming site to another. Of course like any other person who wants to have a clean fun, I ask my online blogger friends for any feed back before trying a new game site. If they find it safe, that is the only time I try visiting the site so I am limited to only what my acquaintances have tried. I am tempted most of the time to discover new gaming site but as my husband say, it is very risky.

Then I learned about TopUSAOnlineCasinos.com, a website which helps players find safe and fun online gambling destinations. They ranked the top USA online casinos based on bonus size, pay out rate, customer support, number of games, deposit options, graphics, and ease of use. style notes from VB

Posted by Kero at Tuesday, November 20, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I adore Victoria Beckham. I think she has a very fascinating persona. She may be lacking the vocal talent, I admire that she is a loyal wife, devoted mother, and a fashion icon. Imagine my itch to read her style book That Extra Half An Inch but it always flew off the book shelves here in the UAE. I finally found a website called Style.com which gave excerpts from the book. I guess it is a must read for any lady who is short on closet space so I share this with you and I hope you enjoy!

That Extra Half an Inch: Hair , Heels and Everything in Between

A best seller in the U.K., Victoria Beckham's book is one part photo-packed girl-next-door-made-good story, another part high-end international shopping guide.

Page count: 373, including blank pages where readers can write their own notes.
Words of wisdom: "Never buy a dress that's really too tight for you. But if you do…never go to a party without safety pins."
The overall message: The Posh life is within rea
ch.

On Jeans: "More than any other piece of clothing, jeans can show off your figure to its best, but if you get the wrong cut or style they will do you absolutely no favours at all."

On Sunglasses : "The crucial accessory for me is a good pair of sunglasses. If you've ever wondered why I'm always wearing them it's very simple: as a mum, I often don't get that much sleep, I don't always have time to put on the Touche Éclat in the mornings, and who can be bothered putting on eyeshadow first thing in the day anyway? So, instead, I just throw on the Chanel sunglasses, which really do, as the fashion magazines say, hide a multitude of sins."

On Underpinnings:"The absolute worst thing anyone can do with their jeans is to pull their G-string over the waistband.…I don't mind a bit of lingerie showing…but that is very different from bending over in Piccadilly Circus and showing your thong."

On the LBD: "A simple black pencil dress is probably one of the most useful things you can own because you can dress it up in so many different ways and no one will realize you're wearing the same thing over and over."

On packing: "Packing really is one of the worst things about holidays. I just hate choosing what to take and what to leave out. So I take everything!"

On Stashing vs Trashing:"If you feel particularly good about yourself in something, or someone important in your life makes a nice comment about it, you will always associate that outfit with that moment, and that's why clothes work almost like a scrapbook of your life. At least they do for me, which is one reason why I have kept virtually everything I've ever worn."

Top Tip: "Don't bother with tit tape which you see in some high-street stores: go to a proper wig shop and get the real stuff as it's much tougher and nothing will go anywhere when you've got that on. Word of warning, though: be careful when you take it off that you don't rip a nipple off too, as it really is very strong."

a walk in the park

Feeling blue? the best way to beat it is to go green with eco-therapy. According to research, a walk in a green environment - like a park - helped cut depressive symptoms of subjects by 70 percent. It also has a marked improvement on self esteem.

Researchers say, doctors should be encouraged to recommend an outdoor workout program as a fir line of treatment for sufferers of depression and patients with mental health issues. With the abundance of parks in the UAE, it is easy to get your green fix - both Safa Park and the newly opened Satwa Park have special tartan tracks for walkers and runners. Other recommended eco-therapy activities include flying a kit e and gardening.

Over 400 cars including the most exotic, speed racers, hybrid, and the latest models from leading auto makers worldwide were unveiled. I share with you today my snapshots. Do enjoy!

The absolutely gorgeous Saab Aero X that has a cockpit
designed to look like the canopy of a jet fighter.

The award-winning plug-in hybrid Volt from Chevrolet.

The plane quick Bugatti Veyron.

These Mercedes and Cadillacs are exclusive for kids.

A car show is incomplete without beautiful women
as seen in this Lamborghini Gallardo.

The eagerly-awaited Nissan GTR-- deliberately engineered
to take on and beat the Porsche.

My favorite of them all, the Holden Efijy from GM. Soo loving the
Soprano Purple color
but sadly, GM has no plans to put it into production.

So tell me which among is your favorite? Thank you for the visit and have a great week ahead!

Pregnancy Myths (Part 4)

Posted by Kero at Thursday, November 15, 2007 2 sweets for Kero
Good morning everyone. I just finished our laundry and I feel sleepy now but I would like to continue first with my entries on pregnancy myths. I had been busy with my paid posts so i know i owe my readers to finish this category.

Pregnancy Myth #9 --Having sexual intercourse can lead to premature labor

Medical experts day that prostaglandin in semen plus the contractions of sex can induce labor, but will not do so in a normal pregnancy. Only a few high risk pregnancies can be affected. Still when in doubt, it is best to get clarification from your doctor.

Pregnancy Myth #10 --Do not get a facial or steam in pregnancy
A pregnant woman cam continue treating herself to her usual facials, but medical experts say be aware that any new3 kind of facial may introduce skin allergies that may ultimately require oral medications in treatment. In addition, there is no harm in taking steam on the face.

Pregnancy Myth#11 -- Watch your fish intake
Experts say that pregnant women should not eat more than two servings of fich per week in order to protect developing babies from high level of brain damaging mercury. Avoid eating shark, swordfish, king mackerel, or golden or white snapper as they contain high level of mercury. Instead, opt for fish low in mercury such as shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock and catfish.

Pregnancy Myth #12 -- Delivery is hereditary (if Mum had a normal delivery, so will you)
This is not necessarily tru. The kind of delivery you have depends entirely on your body type, the position of your baby, and your state of health.

Pregnancy Myth #13 -- Sleeping on your left side
Medical experts say that sleeping on your left side speed ups nutrients to the baby, whereas sleeping on your back puts too much pressure on the vena cava. This is important to watch for, especially in the latter part of pregnancy when the baby's weight increases.

And that is all for my entries on this category. Thank you all for your interest. I hope I was able to enlighten some of your concerns in your pregnancy. I have to go now, because my baby inside me is kicking. He must be hungry because we only ate 2 slices of pineapple this morning and a slice of brown bread. I have to feed him first, before i can have my nap.Otherwise, he won't let me sleep hiihi. Ciao!!

pie me?

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, November 14, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I have been advised by my ob-gyn to limit my carbo and sweet intake so it will be easier for me to deliver the baby. But i am soo craving for somethign sweet and gooey this afternoon. And to curb the feeling, i decided to take this pie personality test.

You Are Lemon Meringue Pie

You're the perfect combo of sassy and sweet.
You always know how to brighten someone's mood, but you're not overly sappy.
In fact, you can be a bit too honest at times. And most people find that refreshing.

While you're always true to yourself, you keep things light. That's how people are able to stomach your slightly bitter outlook.

Those who like you have well refined tastes.
You're complicated - and let's face it - a true enigma.

You enjoy defying expectations, and there are many layers to your personality.
There's not one easy way to define you.

Ooh, the only pies i have tasted are peach, mango, and apple so i wonder how this one feels on my taste buds. I enjoy meringue though because my best friend in college like this a lot. I will be giving birth maybe last week of December so i hope i can have a bite of this yummy early next year.

pay day loan quotes

Posted by Kero at Monday, November 12, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
How far have you gone with your Christmas shopping list? I was at the Mall of Emirates yesterday with my friend Vaness when we spotted a 3-day sale on Debenhams. Vaness gave out a long sigh of frustration because her pay check will still be given on the 15th of the month. It could have been a perfect time for her to complete her gift list for her family and officemates.

It's a great thing I was able to help my friend because I learned about PaydayLoanQuotes.com. The website provides a solution to your short-term cash needs, bridging the time when you sorely need money but your salary is still a week away. That is why it is called pay day loan.

Application is easy and this is a no credit check, no fax payday loan. For as long as you are employed with an existing bank account, you can fill out their 1-page online application form and submit online. There is no other paper requirements so you are assured of faxless payday loans.

PaydayLoanQuotes.com then matches you with a lender based on the information you provided them. You can avail of a loan amount from $100 to $1,500. If your loan is approved, you can receive the money on your bank account within 24 hours of your application.

So what are you waiting for? End your cash dilemma and continue with your Christmas shopping. Visit PaydayLoanQuotes.com now!

car quotes

Posted by Kero at Monday, November 12, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
When we first bought our SUV, we hopped from one dealer to another trying to get the lowest price. It was very, very exhausting and expensive too. It took us almost one month to decide which of car dealer was giving us the best quote.

Now that we are thinking of buying our second car, this time a smaller sedan, I am not so thrilled going around again asking for prices. Sure I love the smell of a new car but I am 34 weeks pregnant and travel does not come easy anymore. It's a good thing I found a website called CarsBlvd.com that gives quotes on any car of your choice and any brand.

For instance, you are thinking of buying one of those Honda cars. You can visit CarsBlvd.com, fill in the year and the model of your car and voila you are immediately given two Honda car quotes. That simple, fast, and easy. Best of all, these Honda car prices are given to you for free.

What a relief! CarsBlvd.com is certainly a must visit for anyone with petrol flowing in their veins.

A-Z of Alternative Health

Posted by Kero at Sunday, November 11, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
Hi everyone! It's been a great weekend. I finished three reviews today, and I got five more left to do. I will continue tomorrow because i need to prepare for dinner in just awhile. Before I go, I leave you again my clippings on alternative health.

U is for Urine Therapy

This certainly isn't everyone's cup of wee, but drinking your own urine is believed by some to prevent and cure illness, boost the immune system, and generally cleanse the system. The health benefits from taking the piss, however, doesn't have any solid scientific backing, although it is not thought to be dangerous. Find out more: www.universal-tao.com/article/urine_therapy.html

V is for Visceral Manipulation
This technique is based on the belief that the body's internal organs are in a state of continuous motion, and that complete health is only attainable when the motion between the organs and their connective tissues is stable. Using manual pressure, practitioners claim they can relieve digestive problems, incontinence, chronic pain, and physical trauma. Find out more: www.theawarenesscentre.com/therapies/visceral_manipulation

W is for Wave Therapy
This is the collective term for therapies based on waves. Phototherapy, for example, involves exposure to different wavelengths of light, and can be used to treat acne, seasonal affective disorder and sleep problems. Sound therapy, meanwhile uses different tones to exercise the ear muscles, allegedly 'recharging' the brain, thereby reducing tiredness. Finally, magnetotheraphy uses electromagnetic energy, often from magnetic bracelets, which is said to to improve blood circulation, reduing pain and symptoms of illness. Weekends are sometimes spent on volunteer programs. Last Friday, my husband and I joined the annual Clean Up Arabia. Thousands joined and scattered all over the emirates shoreline to collect waste and debris from the beach and the sea.

I am 34 weeks pregnant but insisted on doing the clean up so I have to stay on the
beach with fellow non-divers. In my sack were beverage bottles (plastic, glass, cans),
stirrers, plastic cups, forks, spoons, plates, batteries, diaper, and cigarette butts.

The divers leaving the shore. Among they collected are fish traps,
beverage bottles,
buoys, light bulbs, bait, and fishing nets.

That is hubby after their dive with a green sack of his collected debris.

A group picture with fellow Filipinos who volunteered for the clean up.

Our certificates. This is our second year to join the Clean Up Arabia and
we plan to do so for many more years.

Happy Sunday everyone! Thank you for the visit and till next entry!

Pregnancy Myths (Part 3)

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, November 07, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I feel sleepy now. For the past two days, I sleep until 12 noon hihi. That is why my blog babies had been very quiet. Anyway, i am back on my feet again so we continue with my entries on pregnancy myths.

Pregnancy myth #6 -- You cannot dye your hair in pregnancy
Medical experts say there is no data available to support the harmful effects of hair dye. Accordingly, very little dye reaches the scalp, if there is any at all.

Pregnancy myth #7 --
Eating nuts and saffron is good for intelligence and the complexion of the baby, respectively
Nuts are definitely good for pregnant women due to their high vitamin and calorific content. However, their role in helping to produce a baby that is smarter or more intelligent has not been proven scientifically says medical experts. In addition, skin color is dependent on parental genes and familial tendencies.

Pregnancy myth #8 -- Do not drink coffee unless it is with milk
Most studies show no problems with two or three cups of coffee a day., though large amounts can lead to low birth weigh
t babies. Also there are minimal harmful effects from the use of artificial sweeteners such as aspartame found in diet soda. Like everything else, moderation is best.

That is a relief to know because though i am not a coffee person, i do indulge on drinking coke maybe once a week because i feel very warm and thirsty. It's like only a soda can quench the thirst hihi.

Have to take my nap now. Ciao!!

A-Z of Alternative Health

Posted by Kero at Wednesday, November 07, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
Good morning readers! I just finished our laundry, completed a review, received another blog award and a tag but let me do first this entry on alternative health because I know a lot of people are waiting.

R is for Reflexology

Reflexologists believe that the zones of the feet correspond to certai
n areas in the body, and that ill health shows itself in the form of tiny lumps of lactic acid in the feet. By applying gentle but firm pressure on the feet, practitioners claim they can release energy blockages and help to improve the health of the corresponding body part. Reflexology is designed to be used as well as rather than instead of, conventional medicine. Find out more: www.reflexology.org

S is for Shiatsu

Originating in Japan, the philosophy of shiatsu is that the blockages in the body's energy show themselves in the form of disease. So the shiatsu expert improves the flow by pressing his or her palms, fingers, thumbs, elbows, knees, and feet on specific parts of the patient's body. It is becoming increasingly popular around the world and evidence shows it helps to fight the nausea caused by chemotherapy. Find out more: www.shiatsu.org

T is for Tai Chi Chuan

Often simply known as tai chi, this discipline comes under the umbrella of Chinese medicine. There are five main different styles of tai chi, which range from the slow hand-movement form to those using traditional weapons. But the principle remains the same: that certain movements stimulate and regulate the flow of energy resulting in better balance, cardiovascular fitness and lower anxiety levels. Thank you for your continued interest. Till next entry and have a wacky Wednesday everyone!

your idea of a good friend

Posted by Kero at Monday, November 05, 2007 0 sweets for Kero
I got this from a new blogger friend John. I think it is a beautiful summary of friendship and growing up and I would like to share it to everybody.

# In kindergarten your idea of a good friend was the person who
let you have the red crayon when all that was left was the ugly black one.

# In first grade your idea of a good friend was the person who went to the bathroom with you and held your hand as you walked through the scary halls.

# In second grade your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you stand up to the class bully.
# In third grade your idea of a good friend was the person who shared their lunch with you when you forgot yours on the bus.

# In fourth grade your idea of a good friend was the person who was willing to switch square dancing partners in gym so you wouldn't have to bestuck do-si-do-ing with Nasty Nicky or Smelly Susan.

# In fifth grade your idea of a friend was the person who saved a seat on the back of the bus for you.

# In sixth grade your idea of a friend was
the person who went up to Nick or Susan, your new crush, and asked them to dance with you, so that if they said no you wouldn't have to be embarrassed.

# In seventh grade your idea of a friend was the person who let you copy the social studies homework from the night before that you had.

# In eighth grade your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you pack up your stuffed animals and old baseball cards so that your room would be a "high schooler's" room, but didn't laugh at you when you finished and broke out into tears.

# In ninth grade your idea of a good friend was the person who went to that"cool" party thrown by a senior so you wouldn't wind up being the only freshman there.

# In tenth grade your idea of a good frien
d was the person who changed their schedule so you would have someone to sit with at lunch.

# In eleventh grade your idea of a good friend was the person who gave you rides in their new car, convinced your parents that you shouldn't be grounded, consoled you when you broke up with Nick or Susan, and found you a date to the prom.

# In twelfth grade your idea of a good friend was the perso
n who helped you pick out a college, assured you that you would get into that college, helped you deal with your parents who were having a hard time adjusting to the idea of letting you go.

# At graduation your idea of a good friend was the person who was crying on the inside but managed the biggest smile one could give as they congratulated you.

# The summer after twelfth grade your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you clean up the bottles from that party, helped you sneak out of the house when you just couldn't deal with your parents, assured you that now that you and Nick or you and Susan were
back together, you could make it through anything, helped you pack up for college and just silently hugged you as you looked through blurry eyes at 18 years of memories you were leaving behind, and those last days of childhood, went out of their way to give you assurance that you would make it in college as well as you had these past 18 years, and most importantly sent you off to college knowing you were loved.

# Now, your idea of a good friend is still the person who gives you the better of the two choices, hold your hand when you're scared, helps you fight off those who try to take advantage of you, thinks of you at times when you are not there, reminds you of what you have forgotten, helps you put the past behind you but understands when you need to hold on to it a little longer, stays with you so that you have confidence, goes out of their way to make time for you, helps you clear up your mistakes, helps you deal with pressure from others, smiles for you when they are sad, helps you become a better person, and most importantly loves you!

If you enjoyed this, please feel free to copy or pass it on to your friends. A happy Monday morning and i wish for you to find your true friend like i found mine.

poem on a Sunday morning

Posted by Kero at Sunday, November 04, 2007 2 sweets for Kero
I found this beautiful poem while surfing the net. It is befitting my mood so i decided to post it. I guess i am having one of those pregnancy blues.

FROM LONELINESS TO RAGE 01

FROM loneliness to rage,
you slip into a bluster
of moods, each one has a
flag of its own.

FROM loneliness to rage,
you howl for any one
with two arms, to hold you,
untill this sadness passes
away.

FROM loneliness to rage,
you cry missiles that
explode in your head,
and land at your feet.
AMEN.............
