A Peek Inside The World of Precast

Posted by Kero at Sunday, July 18, 2010
A day at the play area.

So vat does your husband do?

Well, in between calculating how to recover my debit card, he works for a precast company.

Precast? Vat eees that?

The question I always fall short for an answer. The photos below might help to explain. Hubby took these last week when he visited the site for Emirati Villas in Abu Dhabi.

Trailer carrying the panels from UPC Factory to the site.

Precast Concrete is a construction product produced by casting concrete in a reusable mold or "form" which is then cured in a controlled environment, transported to the construction site and lifted into place.

Beams and panels. Sometimes they make beams as long as 22 metres without support.

These are like thousands of villas constructed by the UAE government for Emirati families. Tsk, tsk, sarap talaga ng buhay lokal!

What a coincidence. We passed by this area this morning. I was inside the bus (bus tour held by the company) though. Very interesting.
