Cotton Candy

Posted by Kero at Thursday, February 04, 2010
As we are making the most of what's left of the winter chill, my son and I frequent the nearby Zabeel Park. Like any amusement area, they have stalls that sell buttered popcorn, potato wedges, and the sweetest, fluffiest cotton candies to provide further energy rush. They come in powder blue, mint green, and the famous sweet pink color.

"To seek approval is to have no resting place , no sanctuary. Like all judgment, approval encourages a constant striving. It makes us uncertain of who we are and of our true value. Approval cannot be trusted. It can be withdrawn at anytime no matter what our track record has been. It is as nourishing as cotton candy. Yet many of us spend our lives pursuing it." ~ Rachel Naomi Ramen

I only bought once thinking Andreas would like to taste as well like the other kids but my two year old just smiled and shook his head on my offering. Instead he continued shoveling the sand. I don't have a sweet tooth either so I gave the cotton candy to two little Indian girls who passed by. They walked away giggling and very delighted. A lady in sari (probably their mother) nodded and smiled at my direction.
